ICAIR’s approach combines technological understanding with ethical analysis rooted in Islamic scholarship. The stream brings together scholars, technologists, academics and practitioners to develop balanced perspectives on emerging technologies, rather than simply embracing or rejecting them outright.
The research examines the opportunities, risks and long-term implications of emerging technologies, while helping Muslim communities navigate their engagement with AI thoughtfully. It seeks to ensure that Muslim perspectives influence the conversations shaping technological futures.
